If ever I've fought an epic battle with a painting, it was with this one. This piece was a real beast. I even had to set it aside for a while and not look at it so I could come back to it with a fresh eye. Even so, it still has all kinds of problems - like the poorly defined lighting. I'm pretty happy with the color overall, but there are all kinds of little problems with it - I really don't like the leaves on the trees even though I painted them twice. Ah well, it's a personal piece and I just can't bring myself to keep working on it - time to move on to something new!
10 x 11" Acrylic & a little colored pencil

Lovely!!!! To me this piece seems to be so mundane and at the same time to fairytale like. Oh how I wish I could paint things like this. At times I have notions like this when you go out for a walk and the wind is ever so light and refreshing. Moments you enjoy. Moments that is just an every day blessing. This is what this painting makes me feel. So I say even if it has flaws to you to me you did what a painting should. It makes me want to appreciate the small things much more.

Reminds me of the lighting that David Catrow uses in his pieces....cool in the foreground and yellow backgrounds. Even though you don't like the tree leaves, I do like that they feel like wind is blowing through them. It creates a nice sense of contrast between the air above the forest, and the still air below. You've really created 2 environments here, so I can see why it was challenging! Well done, though!
I like the lightning and the leaves, even though you don't
Really love the consept and the colours!
